The Quebec Investor Program was designed to help the economic development in Canada and Quebec. Unlike other areas of immigration, timelines and quotas are not the same as other categories of immigration. The Quebec Investor Program is scheduled to open up again on May 30, 2016 and to run to February 28, 2017. However given the demand in prior years it is best to submit your application as soon as possible.
This program is available to people with business experience as well as managerial experience. The advantage of this program is that there are no age limitations, educational or language requirements. All immediate family members of the candidate’s family, namely their spouse and children, are included in the application and will receive permanent status as well.
To qualify you must meet the requirements:
- A minimum net with of 1.6 million Canadian, alone or with your spouse (assets such as bank accounts, property*, pension funds and stocks can be included);
*Property must be evaluated by a certified market evaluator
- The applicant must have a minimum of two years managerial experience within the last 5 years and the company must have a minimum of two full time employees;
- Agree to make a risk free investment of $800,000 Canadian through an approved financial intermediary for five years receiving no interest or finance the investment which cost a minimum of $200,000.
If your file has been approved by the Quebec government, you are required to make the financial deposit of either $800,000 or chose to finance within 110 days. Of course, all applicants and their dependents will have to meet security background checks and to have medical exams before they are given permanent resident status.
